I just completed my bucket list trip of a lifetime with my bestie of 47 years, Stephanie Key Espinoza
We hiked the Inca trail, the Salkantay Pass trek to Machu Picchu, ending the trip climbing to the top of Machu Picchu mountain. It was approximately 50 miles over 8 days, gaining 8000 Ft of elevation, hitting a peak of 15,200 Ft of altitude before the descent.
There were so many cultural integration moments, and it was an incredibly rewarding spiritual, energetic, and connecting journey with the 8 others on the trek with us.
For those who know me well, I trained like crazy for this trip – uphill hiking on a treadmill with hiking boots, backpack, and an endurance mask; many arm and core days at the gym followed by 200 flights on the stairmaster. My body feels good, and I am so proud of making it happen.
I couldn’t have done it without my ride or die, Stephanie. I love doing such hard things with you….achieving our dreams and building such amazing memories together. We can do hard things! I am thankful for our enduring friendship and love of adventure.
And thank you to my amazing family supporting me and helping me achieve my goals. I missed you so!
Next up….Patagonia!
